Yes…it IS all about the dress.

A bride came in the store the other day with her mother.  She had already bought a wedding gown at another store, but now she was having a small destination wedding with only family and thought her current gown was too formal and wanted to look for something more “simple.”

They showed me a picture of the gown…and sure enough, it was formal!  Fitted bodice that gradually turned into multiple pickups and “poof” on the skirt.

As we were going through the gowns, she was really interested in lace! Which to us in the bridal industry is pretty formal!  As the appointment went on, she really started falling in love with classic lace dresses…so we moved from “simple” to a more “sophisticated” look.

And then it happened…she found the dress!  A Maggie Sottero gown named Mayla…the bodice is corded lace and skirt a Paris Chiffon draped over Romance Satin.

The bride looked stunning!  It was the dress…her dress.

As she was smiling, and her mom with tears in her eyes, the bride told me she didn’t really like her first dress, the one they bought at the other store.  She said she felt pressured by the staff into buying it, and that she wasn’t happy.  That’s why she wanted a small wedding!  Now she wants a big wedding, with a big reception, bridal portraits and a even wedding shower!

She said: “I feel beautiful.  I now feel like a bride.”

Brides…be true to yourself.  Listen to your inner voice.  Your dress will tell you if it’s the one.  Because ladies…it IS all about the dress.
